“Our second visit – well worth a 40 minute drive from Penrith. The lamb was stupendous and as for the desserts – especially the crème brûlée – wonderful. Our party also ended up ordering soap online to match the Kirkstyle loos!”
“Visited a couple of times now mainly for a quick bite but had a long, leisurely lunch this time and so glad we did. Food is outstanding and staff/service is spot on. Well worth every penny! Will always call in when in the area”
“The Kirkstyle was very buzzy and had a great atmosphere. A top class range of wines and champagnes were on offer all keenly priced. The food was sublime. The menu wasn’t huge but offered great choice from substantial bar snacks to pub classics to high end fine dining that was better than many Michelin restaurants I have eaten in (and at a price that was much less). I would highly recommend a visit and stay at the Kirkstyle – book soon before this gem gets discovered”.
“I had read the Grace Dent review in the Guardian and coincidentally we had a long weekend booked in nearby Alston, and a booking was quickly made! The food and the service were both excellent. So glad we chose to have the pre-starters (as a treat), they were so delicate and tasty. You can see a lot of love goes into this food; it shows. My husband is STILL talking about the Chocolate Cremeux with Cherries….. 3 days later! Thanks for making our holiday extra special”.
“The Kirkstyle Inn is the sort of pub that’s worth making a detour for. It has quietly been here for hundreds of years, and now is its time to roar”.
