Nestled in the breathtaking Northumberland moorlands, bordering Cumbria, our beautiful pub offers luxury rooms, exceptional seasonal food, and a heartfelt celebration of local produce. With sustainability at our core and strong ties to our rural community, we pair thoughtful cooking with a well-stocked bar and an extensive wine list to suit all palates and purses. Our Menus

At The Kirkstyle we are passionate about sustainability and playing our part in protecting the planet.  The abundance of glorious local produce, and our desire to showcase Northumberland on the plate, helps to naturally reduce our carbon footprint.  We embrace pickling and fermentation methods, using as much of the produce as possible, to create a larder of ingredients.  All dishes and sauces are made in our kitchen, as are many of our non-alcoholic cocktails.  Our crusty homemade sourdough bread is nurtured and baked inhouse.

Wow, great experience all round... We took a slight detour to visit before heading up to an event near Dundee the following day, it was a great decision. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was all amazing with good attentive staff and service. Our room (Knarburn) had a cute little chair near the window which was difficult to leave due to the comfort and amazing views. Highly recommend a visit for food or an overnight stay, you won\'t be disappointed!

Very comfortable bed, shower nice and powerful.lovely touches like homemade biscuits in the room. Breakfast was good so was my evening meal to celebrate my mum’s 90th. I would not hesitate to return. Fully recommend. Even found a sketch of my dad while eating my breakfast in the small dining room.

My sister and I visited the Kirkstyle Inn for her birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful time from start to finish. Lovely cosy room with an amazing view of the hills. Gorgeous walk along the old railway line into Slaggyford. We had the 10 course tasting menu. I’ve never had a tasting menu before. It was absolutely superb. The staff came and explained each course to us, telling us where the ingredients came from, and they were all so knowledgeable. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious, sustainable food, great wine selection, and brilliant service.

We recently stayed at The Kirkstyle Inn & Sportsman’s Rest while visiting Northumbria, and it was a real highlight of our trip. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well thought out — the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the area. Everything felt calm and cared for, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Dinner was a standout. We opted for the Chef’s menu, and it was exceptional — beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with great attention to detail. The wine pairing was also incredible and would highly recommend going for it.…
