To truly embrace the Kirkstyle experience and take in the tranquility of the beautiful Northumbrian moorlands book a stay with us. Choose a room at The Kirkstyle or take a longer break at The Old Rectory, our six bedroom holiday home, right next door to the pub.

Languished in style and enveloped in luxury award winning interior design Studio Fantoush has poured love and attention into every detail; fusing mood enhancing colours, influences from across the globe and antique gems with modern efficiencies. The hue of the walls, texture and weave of the fabrics and furnishings have been expertly blended to make you feel at home.

Each of the bedrooms at The Kirkstyle have a spacious en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, power shower and a smart TV. All of the bedrooms in both The Kirkstyle and The Old Rectory have king size Hypnos luxury mattresses, DAB blue tooth radios, hairdryers, fair trade down duvet and pillows, luxury cotton towels and bathrobes and sustainably made toiletries by The Bath House, just down the road in Cumbria.

Rooms at The Kirkstyle

Church Stile

The Church Stile is the pub’s namesake. It has a dual aspect with windows on the north gable and views over the beautiful fell to the east. The deep blue walls encapsulate the moody mountains versing the sky.

The king size luxury Hypnos mattress and fair trade down duvet and pillows make for a peaceful sleep. The beautiful handmade block printed headboard and lovingly restored original French antique chair, set off the room. The extra generous en-suite shower room with spacious shower tray, twin vanity unit, distinct blue and white tiling and herringbone terracotta floor all add to the rooms unique character.

The Church Stile includes a single trundle bed, suitable for a child or an adult. It is dog friendly, suitable for a maximum of two medium size dogs.

Knarburn

The Knarburn is named after the catchment waterway local to the pub. It is the most romantic of our rooms, coated in William Morris’ beautiful wallpaper and boasting some carefully selected antique gems. The East facing window is elegantly framed by burnt red earth curtains, which complement the view over the mesmerising valley,

Relax into the king size luxury Hypnos mattress and snuggle into the fair trade down duvet and pillows; after indulging in The Bath House luxury smellies.

The Knarburn includes a single trundle bed, suitable for a child or adult. It is dog friendly, suitable for a maximum of two medium size dogs.

Armstrong

The Armstrong is named after the local family who owned and ran the pub for over 50 years. The Armstrong’s East facing aspect takes in the extraordinary beauty of the South Tyne Valley. In response, the walls are adorned in a sumptuous mole green, punctuated with rich jewel tones, evident in the beautiful bespoke velvet headboard and bucket chair.

The versatile luxury kingsize Hypnos mattress and bed can easily be converted into a twin. The Armstrong is dog friendly, suitable for a maximum of two medium size dogs.

South Tyne View

The South Tyne View speaks for itself as it overlooks the South Tyne meandering through the stunning valley. It’s dual aspect envelopes the glorious views and if star constellations are your thing, you’re in the right place. On a clear night the skies are staggering.

The dusky pink walls reflect the light and draw in the natural flora of the mountains. The large antique chest of drawers accents the room. The extra generous bespoke en-suite and styled built in wardrobe add that little extra to enhance your stay.

The South Tyne View has ample storage and a single trundle bed, suitable for a child or an adult. It is our only non-dog friendly room.

The Old Rectory

The Old Rectory is ideal for family holidays, group getaways, sporting parties and corporate team building events. We are dog friendly and welcome up to a maximum of two medium sized dogs.

Lounge & Drawing Room

The lounge and drawing room are adjoining but can be separated by a luxurious curtain. The drawing room overlooks the garden and the lounge looks over The Kirkstyle Inn. The lounge has a large comfy L-shaped sofa positioned in front of the smart TV. An ideal spot for relaxing, enjoying your favourite movies and playing games. The drawing room has a large open fire, with plenty of comfy chairs and a three-seater sofa. Wonderful for pre or post dinner drinks, sharing time with one another, and enjoying the roaring fire on chillier days.

Kitchen & Dining Room

What better way to enjoy each other’s company than over a good meal? Whether you’re hiring a chef or love cooking for yourselves, the bright and airy kitchen and dining area is the perfect space. The modern kitchen, with central island housing the oven and hob, makes cooking a sociable event. The large oak table in the adjoining orangery-styled dining area seats 12 and looks over the terrace and garden to the mystic beauty of the South Tyne valley. Double patio doors from the dining area lead out onto the terrace, where, during the summer months, you’ll find furniture for alfresco dining and a BBQ. The beautifully landscaped garden, with large steel planters are a joy. The garden is fenced making it a safe environment for children and pets.

Soap & Soak

Bathrooms in The Old Rectory are a work of art and bellow joy. The ensuite bathrooms in the two ground-floor bedrooms have been carefully and efficiently put together. Both have walk-in spacious showers. On the first floor, there are two family-sized bathrooms. Both have large walk-in showers and roll-top baths. Bedroom five, on the same floor, has its own free-standing roll-top bath. On the second floor, there is a third family bathroom with a roll-top bath, and avante-guard hand painted floor.

Bedroom One

Bedroom one is on the ground floor, with views to the front of the property overlooking the garden, farmer’s fields to the right with the mountains in the distance. To the left, there are views over the beautiful South Tyne Valley. The soft tone of the room exudes an air of tranquillity. The luxury en-suite bathroom has a spacious shower.

Bedroom Two

Bedroom two is on the ground floor at the rear of the property. Its dual aspect overlooking The Kirkstyle Inn and beautiful South Tyne Valley to the right. The window seat is a great place to escape with a book. The luxury ensuite bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower.

Bedroom Three

Bedroom three is on the first floor, overlooking The Kirkstyle Inn. It majors on exquisite fabrics of artisan design.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, sharing two luxurious family-sized bathrooms, on the same floor, with walk-in showers and roll-top baths.

Bedroom Four

Bedroom four is at the front of the property, overlooking the garden and the fell. The rich Sandberg wallpaper, stand-out Pooky chandelier and tiger print accent the room. The walnut desk and vintage chair are for your convenience. There are three bedrooms on the first floor, sharing two luxurious family-sized bathrooms, both have walk-in showers and roll-top baths.

Bedroom Five

Bedroom five is on the first floor, at the front of the house overlooking the garden, with stunning views over the fell to the East. It has a beautiful serene feel, emanating from the tone of walls to the earthy colours of the fabrics. The icing on the cake has to be the elegant free-standing roll-top bath.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, sharing two luxurious family-sized bathrooms, both have walk-in showers and roll-top baths.

Bedroom Six

Bedroom six is set below the eaves on the second floor. It is covered from head to foot in a beautiful blue leafy Sandberg wallpaper; as you lie down you can imagine you’re in a forest. Also, on the second floor is a third-family bathroom, with roll-top bath. There is also a seating area with a comfy double sofa and smart TV. An ideal spot for older children.
